6 Days, 5 Nights Safari to Amboseli and Tsavo

This 6-days, 5-nights safari combines the breathtaking landscapes of Amboseli National Park and the vast wilderness of Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks. The journey starts in Nairobi and takes you south to Amboseli, famous for its massive herds of elephants and the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. From there, you’ll explore Tsavo West, known for its rugged terrain, Mzima Springs, and the Shetani Lava Flow, before heading to Tsavo East, Kenya’s largest park, where you’ll encounter endless plains, red-dusted elephants, and diverse wildlife. This safari offers an authentic wilderness experience, rich cultural encounters, and a chance to witness some of the best wildlife viewing in Kenya.

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through the scenic Athi Plains to Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, where you’ll spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and hippos, all against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli.

Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli National Park

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli. Begin with an early morning game drive to catch predators before they retreat from the heat. Visit Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park and wildlife congregating around swamps. Enjoy another afternoon game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, visit Mzima Springs to see hippos and crocodiles in crystal-clear water, and explore the volcanic Shetani Lava Flow. Enjoy a game drive en route back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park

Have an early morning game drive before heading east to Tsavo East National Park. Known for its red elephants and vast open landscapes, this park is one of Kenya’s largest wildlife sanctuaries. Arrive for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and antelopes. Dinner and overnight in Tsavo East.

Day 5: Full Day in Tsavo East National Park

Spend the day exploring Tsavo East. Early morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to see wildlife at its most active. Visit Aruba Dam, a great spot for birdwatching and observing animals coming to drink. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Tsavo East – Nairobi or Mombasa

After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive as you exit the park. Drive back to Nairobi or continue to Mombasa for a beach extension. Drop-off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your safari adventure.
